There was a tragedy this week at one of our local elementary schools. An elderly lady drove her car through the wall of the cafeteria and killed an 8 year old boy. People are puzzled as to how this kind of thing could have happened. Did she have a medical problem, should she have even been driving at 84, were the 'detour' signs in that area a confusion for her? Just no answers as of yet. I'm sure all that will come out in the following weeks. I can't help but to feel sorry for her though. Not in the same way I feel sorry for the boy's family...but just sorrow at the thought of her having to deal with the guilt of this tragedy for the rest of her life. That would certainly be a difficult burden to carry.
