What a gorgeous picture Linnie!! I love it and I am ready for Spring too. Hey, congratulations to your daughter!! WOO-HOO!!! That is awesome!! Have a nice weekend!! ((BIG HUGS))!!
Pretty pic! I'm trying to figure out what kind of flower that is. It looks kind of like a blue salvia, almost like buddleia but the stems don't appear woody enough. Whatever it is, it sure is pretty and I'd love to have one in my yard. My fav color is purple and my fav purple plant that butterflies seem to love is heliotrope. I get some every year and plant it in containers on our deck. It's wonderfully aromatic with a vanilla scent. As long as I'm being super-analytical, that looks like a yellow tiger swallowtail butteryfly. LOL
Yep Laurie, it's a butterfly bush and I love the thing! I do need to cut the dead stuff back but by the end of the summer, it'll be over 7 feet tall again!!!
Ah, it is a butterfly bush! It's beautiful. We planted a couple of bi-color buddleia's, the ones that have a blend of pink and apricot blooms as well as a couple of deep purple ones and they just haven't taken off. They aren't dying, just kind of, sitting there. LOL I think I'm going to try Algoflash or something like that. We had put Miracle Gro on them and that usually works with our annuals and perennials but so far it's not doing much for the shrubs.
40 years old (sad, but true), mom to two of the sweetest, most beautiful daughters in the WORLD, also 'mom' to a 42 year old hubby who refuses to grow up! :)
