Well, I'm a little slow to jump on the 'green' bandwagon...that's not surprising as I'm pretty slow with everything I do, it seems. But over the last couple of years, we've started replacing light bulbs, washing the laundry in cold water, and trying to waste as little electricity and water as possible. The latter is pretty difficult with a 17 year old in the house. I swear that girl uses WAY TOO much water at bathtime...we end up yelling at her to turn it off but before we know it, we can hear the water running again. No one can take a bath after the child, 'cause there's never any hot water left...teenagers! But anyway, I digress. *lol*
So we have been attempting to be a bit more eco-friendly but I'll admit, I have been hesitant in trying the so-called 'green' products, especially the cleaners. The obvious reason is the cost of course...there's no denying, the green products are expensive. At minimum, at least a buck more. So I've always opted to just my regular non-green cleaners...until a couple weeks ago.
I've heard such wonderful things about the Method products...everyone seems to love 'em so there I was in Target debating whether I should try a couple and spend that extra $ or just cave and grab the regular stuff. I spent the extra $ and purchased the Method Wood Cleaner and the Method Tub & Tile Cleaner in the Eucalyptus scent (which I do enjoy the smell of btw).
The wood cleaner, I'll give 5 out of 5 stars...I do LOVE the stuff. I've tried all kinds of wood
cleaning products and this one is definitely the best. I went ahead and bought the micro-fiber cloth to go with it (as recommended) and between the two of them, my kitchen cabinets look the best they've ever looked. There's no greasy feeling after using it and it does seem to resist smudges. So yeah, I do feel that product was a smart buy and I'll most certainly buy it again. And the stuff is gonna last a while, so that's another good thing! The jury still might be out on the Tub & Tile Cleaner though. I've used it once and don't mind the smell and it seemd to work ok...but I wasn't 'wowed' or anything like I was with the wood cleaner.
There's one more product that I've tried and I also have to give it 5 out of 5 stars...the Purex 'Natural Elements' laundry detergent. And that's sayin' a LOT for me as I've always been a big-time Gain lover. The Purex isn't expensive...my favorite thing of course! But it also has a nice scent and does the laundry as well as Gain. I purchased the 'Linen & Lillies' fragrance but I noticed at the Purex website that the detergent also comes in 'Cherry Blossom Vanilla' and 'Apple & Melon'. Also like the fact that the product is hypoallergenic and free of dyes and uses 100% natural cleaning ingredients as well as natural fragrance extracts. And wouldn't you know it, Clorox has also come out with a line of natural cleaners. So the 'big names' are joining in as well...nice thing to see! I've yet to try the Clorox products but I plan on grabbing the Glass Cleaner next time I'm in Wal-Mart...unless of course, the commissary carries it. Doubtful though.
So anyway...guess that was my little 'commercial' for the day. *lol* But hey, never know, the info might be helpful to someone out there in blogland!

I love the Method products. I use the shower spray called Daily Shower every day. Since I changed from soaps to body washes--I'm not dealing with all that shower scum anymore. My tub and shower stays clean all the time.
I'm so glad you visit my blog often. I sure love having you there.
