As luck would have it, the Wild Bird Sanctuary was there with a special exhibit of predator birds...yeah! I enjoyed each and every one BUT my favorite were of course, the owls. They had two...a very small owl (forget what type) and the big guy you see in the photo (he's a Eurasian Eagle Owl). When they brought 'Bogart' out, my eyes filled up with tears. Corny I know, but he is the MOST beautiful bird I've ever seen. And I've always had a thing for owls anyway. His colors are amazing...all the colors of Autumn and his eyes are a orangey gold.

Great pic of the owl! Every now and then, I hear a screech owl out back. He sounds eerie..shiver...I would not want to be the prey.
The screech owls do sound scary, don't they? I grew up in the country and remember hearing owls and coyotes during the night. Of course as a child, those sounds frightened me but now as an adult, I sure miss them!
awww.... I love owls too... and check out this site if you want to see Helena doing her thing... she got to have them on her arm! How exciting would that be?! I'd love to do it.
Check out her ABC Wednesday post for Feathers and then go to her you tube to see her in action... great fun.
